Bachelor of Communication Studies (BCS) Structure
You’ll complete 360 points overall, including the core papers, a first major (120 points) and one of the following options:
A second major from the Bachelor of Communication Studies (120 points); or
A major from another AUT degree (120 points); or
A first minor (60 points) and a second minor (60 points) (can be taken from Communication Studies or elsewhere at AUT)
A minor (60 points) and elective papers (60 points) (can be taken from communication studies or elsewhere at AUT)
First, choose your major:
Your choice in yellow MUST be one of the majors within the Bachelor of Communication Studies:
Advertising & Brand Creativity
Digital Communication
Journalism
Public Relations
Radio & Audio Media
Screen Production
Second, choose the remaining 120 points of your degree - you have three options to choose from:

1. Use this website to explore the majors and minors that make up the BCS, read about what each involves and watch the short videos to help you find the pathway (major/s and minors/s) that is right for you.
2. You must pick a first major and then you have a range of options as to how to structure the rest of your degree. These are listed above.
